The FRM220-OAP17 is a versatile single-channel optical amplifier and preamp module designed for metro Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) applications. It provides low-noise Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) solutions to ensure efficient optical amplification, compensating for signal losses in demultiplexers near the optical receiver. The module features Automatic Gain Control (AGC) via rack management or RS-232 console interface, allowing for consistent output power even with fast changes in input. With a maximum output power of up to 17 dBm, it also includes gain flattening filters (GFF) that maintain a flat gain profile across the entire C-band, with less than 1 dB variance. The FRM220-OAP17 supports hot-swap functionality and comes equipped with an LC/UPC connector for seamless integration into existing networks, making it an ideal solution for reliable, high-performance optical amplification.
