The MXI-Express Thunderbolt remote control module allows for direct control of a PXI Express chassis from a Thunderbolt 3 USB port in a laptop, desktop computer or server. The MXI-Express Thunderbolt technology utilizes a high-bandwidth link that is transparent to device drivers providing CompactPCI Express-level support for PXI Express instrumentation and switching without the need for additional software.

Provided with two ports, the MXI-Express Thunderbolt card supports one connection to the host computer with a second port available to daisy-chain from the PXI chassis to additional Thunderbolt 3 compatible devices such as monitors. The card supports 2 and 4-link chassis configurations.

The Thunderbolt remote control module is not recommended for daisy chaining multiple chassis. Please review MTS’ other chassis controllers and bus expanders for multi-chassis applications.

Typical configurations will utilize the MXI-Express Thunderbolt active cable, providing a two meter connection between the host’s Thunderbolt 3 USB port and the MXI interface.
