Membership and participation in Study Group 15 allows Meinberg to contribute to future standardization, playing a role in ensuring that products for the telecommunication market strictly follow ITU-T standards. This is critical to the interoperability of ICTs – enabling global communications by ensuring that countries’ ICT networks and devices are speaking the same standards-based language, whether exchanging voice, video or data messages. Because Meinberg products are deployed globally and deliver synchronization for mission critical applications, the company recognizes the importance of standards-based interoperability among telecommunications vendors worldwide. The ITU-T is supported by the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB), based at ITU´s headquarters in Geneva and integral to reinforcing the group’s role as the intergovernmental and universal organization responsible for worldwide standardization of telecommunications. Standardization efforts are carried out by Study and Working Groups, in which sector members develop recommendations for recognized areas of ICT. About ITU ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technologies, driving innovation in ICTs together with 193 Member States and a membership of over 700 private sector entities and academic institutions. Established over 150 years ago in 1865, ITU is the intergovernmental body responsible for coordinating the shared global use of the radio spectrum, promoting international cooperation in assigning satellite orbits, improving communication infrastructure in the developing world, and establishing the worldwide standards that foster seamless interconnection of a vast range of communications systems. From broadband networks to cutting-edge wireless technologies, aeronautical and maritime navigation, radio astronomy, oceanographic and satellite-based earth monitoring as well as converging fixed-mobile phone, Internet and broadcasting technologies, ITU is committed to connecting the world. http://www.itu.int
