The 1G 2R Multi-rate Transponder Card (FRM220-1000DS) is a versatile fiber-to-fiber optical media converter and repeater that supports data rates up to 1Gbps. It is designed for seamless compatibility with various fiber interfaces, including 100Mbps Fast Ethernet, 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, STM-1, Fiber Channel 1, and OC3. The FRM220-1000DS offers 2R regeneration, which involves re-amplification and reshaping, ensuring reliable signal transmission. It can be used as a slide-in card within the FRM220 chassis or, when paired with the FRM220-CH01, operates as a stand-alone fiber converter. When installed in the FRM220-CH20 rack with SNMP management, users can monitor the converter’s status, fiber link, and SFP DOM for enhanced control and diagnostics. Key features include transparent FE or GbE media conversion, extended transmission distances from 2km to 120km over fiber, optical repeater functionality, support for Link Fault Pass-Through (LFTP) and Auto Laser Shutdown (ALS), and digital diagnostic monitoring of SFP modules.
